Text Box: Size Charts/Measuring & Fitting

Text Box: Measuring:
If at all possible, have measurements taken by your local seamstress.
Always wear a good quality, supportive bra when taking measurements,  and also when wearing any  formalwear -  it will make a tremendous difference in how well your gown fits.
If you will be wearing any undergarments to alter your body measurements, be sure to measure over these garments (example: enhancing bra or waist minimizer/SPANX)
 Selecting Size
Formalwear traditionally runs smaller than everyday clothing,  so expect to order a larger size than normally worn.  You will look your best in a dress that fits well, regardless of the size on the tag.
If between sizes, choose the larger size as it is easier to alter the dress down than to let it out.
Minor alterations are to be expected, as the fit will be slightly different from everyday clothing. Finished garment measurements will be 1/2” to 1” larger than the size chart measurement (wear ease).
Always fit the bust first, whenever possible - for Ladies whose waist and/or hip measurement places them 2 or more sizes larger than their bust measurement dictates,  we recommend using the Special Waist and/or Special Hip measurement option.
Example: Bust 40.5” Waist 38” Hip 45.5”
Order: Size 14, add 3” to Waist; add 2” to Hip
* 2” usable seam allowance is also “built in” to each gown (chiffons excluded) to allow for alterations “out”, if needed.
Lengths - Standard
Dresses: 55” / Skirts: 41” allowing for up to 5’ 6” tall wearing 3” heel
(extra lengths are available).
